In line with recent and increasing health restrictions, in person Auctions are not currently a viable way to sell or buy property. While we are also missing the electric atmosphere and piping hot coffees, AuctionNow plays on the strengths that online digital auctions can offer while the Richard Matthews Team continue to offer their unrivalled support and expertise. You might be left wondering exactly how you can bid at an online Auction.

We strongly encourage you to contact one of our agents to help you set up your AuctionNow profile and ensure you are ready to go come auction day. However, if you would like to get a head start on your own, here is how:

 

Create your account

Choose the option, ‘I’m a Buyer’ and simply enter in your details and hit ‘Sign Up’.  From here you can create your own ‘property console’. This is where you can see the properties you have registered to bid on or are just following.

 

Find & View Property Listing

Use the ‘Auction Search’ to find the property you are interested in. You can search by street, suburb, postcode or date. Don’t worry, this doesn’t lock you into anything! You can view as many properties as you please. There will also be a link to take you back to the listing on the Richard Matthews website. As well as an easy contact box to speak to the responsible agents.

You can also follow an auction, which is another way to say view. Watching from the sidelines to get a feel for the pace and actions during an online auction is an excellent way to find your feet.

 

Registering to Bid

Click on the ‘Register to Bid’ button on the property page and complete the form which will be submitted to the listing agent for approval. They will double check the details and let you know if there are any issues.

You will need to upload a photo of your drivers license, and may need to submit a letter supporting authority to bid on someone else’s behalf if applicable. Changes to the contract of sale by your solicitor will also need to be uploaded.

 

During the Auction

Prior to the Auction, a member of the Richards Matthews team will contact you to ensure you are ready to bid. The Auction is live and you will see our live auctioneer calling out the bids. While you do place your own bids you will also have your assigned agent to assist you through the process.

The online Auction experience is very similar to an onsite Auction and moves at the same pace with the same exciting atmosphere.

 

Auction Success

Congratulations!!

If you are the successful purchaser, you will be required to pay the 10% deposit. This is done via our Auction Pay portal.  You will also need to electronically sign the contract immediately following the Auction.

If circumstances allow, we would love to then meet you at the signboard to put up the sold sticker.
